さしあたって, さしあたり【差し当たって, 差し当たり】

〔当分〕 for the present [moment]; for the time being; 《英》 for the nonce; 〔目下〕 at present; at the [this] moment.

●さしあたっての用はこれで足りるだろう. This ought to be enough for the time being.

・さしあたっての問題は場所の確保だ. The problem (right) now [at hand] is to secure a place.

●さしあたり5 万円もあればなんとかなると思う. I think 50,000 yen will do for now [the present, the time being, the moment].

・さしあたって必要な品だけを買いなさい. Just buy what you need at the moment.

・さしあたりそれはいらない. I've no immediate need of it.

・さしあたり受付に 5 人要る. For the time being we need [We are in immediate need of] five people for the reception desk.

・今さしあたって心当たりの人はない. I can't think of anybody just now.

・さしあたりほかに名案もなさそうだ. There doesn't seem to be any other good idea at the moment.

・身元保証人ねえ, さしあたり伯父さんに頼んでみようか. Somebody to be your guarantor ... hmmm, I wonder if I should ask your uncle for now.
